low resolution image Not Enlargeable Well it's Labor Day Weekend, so I guess we need to take a break for the holiday, So after rockin' the Washington College campus last Thursday in Chestertown, MD, then riding into Cowboyz in O.C. the next night and doing the same, then holdin' court at Padonia Station in Cockeysville Saturday before two great shows on Sunday (first) at Beth El Congregation in Pikesville and (then) rippin' it up in front of Heavy Mojo and Rehab in Salisbury on Sunday night (whew!) ... we're gonna do just that and take a break on Monday. However before that we'll be doin' it at Whitlow's Friday in Arlington, VA then at it again Saturday at The Pit in Nags Head where we spend many summer holiday weekends. Then overnight we head up and across the Mason- Dixon to Hanover, PA and K Clinger's Chili Cook Off, and a KBB tradition, before heading south again and across the bay to OC and Castaways

How's that for a break!!? BREAK? We doh' need no steenkeen' break!! By the way, is there Utz in Kitty Hawk? Hmmm? Anyway school's back in and the summer is winding down but it's not quite over yet. Spend the last (unofficial) weekend of summer with the KBB and let's make it a party to remember!! PEACE.

Lots Of Chances To See KBB This Week
from: The KELLY BELL BAND
Posted: 08/20/2008

low resolution image Not Enlargeable Hey peeps. Last weeks showed at DrUnks in Greenville,NC and Old Towne in Frederick turned out great. Despite 'dic'lous traffic between DC and Richmond making us late, we hit the ground running in G-Vegas and were reminded by the great crowd why we chose to do our new live cd's there ... as far away as it is. And what can you say about the OTT. It's always the same ... real fans coming to hear our music. Gotta love the place.

Anyway this week is chock full of chances to catch us around MD, including three trips to the Eastern Shore (that's gotta be some kinda record!). Thursday (over the bridge) we go to Centerville and Washington College We always have a great time there and get to expose many of the incoming folks from other places to the musical stew we call PBM. They don't always know what to make of it but they know they like it. Friday it's back "'downy ayshin" to Cowboyz in OC for a return engagement. Despite Mr. Murphy's invoking his law our last time in the club, the band and some friends gotthings things together so that (over the bridge again) we were able to put on a great show for some die hard fans who hung out until all the technical issues got fixed. We look forward to no such issues and an even more slammin show there this time out. Saturday we take to Padonia Station for the first time in a few months. This will be a chance for our many Towson/ Timonium/ Cockeysville (okay Lutherville too!) fans to see us in their neck of the woods.

The weekend winds up with a show for Beth El Congregation in Pikesville to headline a multi-band bill as part of their annual celebration. We are happy and proud to help them by headlining this event. THEN .... It's off to Salisbury (over the bridge part too/), to appear in support of national artists "Rehab". These guys are all over the radio right now. And we look forward to sharing the stage with them. This should be a great show. We'll see you there if you can make it. In the meantime catch us at your local financial instituion getting in hock for funds to pay all the Bay Bridge tolls! ... Just kiddin'. PEACE!!

low resolution image Not Enlargeable Hi everyone. We just wanted to thank every one who came out to the Linganore Wine Cellars Swinging Bluesfest. This is the third time we've been honored to share the stage with our friends, the legendary Nighthawks. We look forward to everything about this festival every year and we are never disappointed. We get to connect with so many of our fans and see many friends and family. The atmosphere's great, the food is awesome and this year the weather pert' near perfect. Thanks Linganore for having us again.

This week starts out with a special night on Friday. This will be the first time back at Dr. Unk's since the release of our live discs "I'm Just Sayin'" and "That's What's Up!" We've been back a couple of times between the recorded shows and now and the folks in G- vegas (Greenville, NC) have been waiting on the recordings from these shows for which so many showed up to take part in. Well, at long last the cd's are here for them (Don't forget the DVD's still comin' in a month or so). OnSStatesaturday we're back in the Free State at the Old Towne Tavern in Frederick. This is always one of our favorite places to play cause the folks there come for the music and to have a good time ... just like us! So whether you're a Terp , a Tar Heel or a Pirate come see us this weekend or else we're gonna be angry (You wouldn't like us when we're angry ... ?) It's gon' b' a party!

low resolution image Not Enlargeable The KELLY BELL BAND mixes funk, blues and r&b into a killer sound. The band is fronted by a charismatic and entertaining lead singer (complete with a head of long dreadlocks) who seriously has MAJOR stage presence. This man talks and everyone listens. The Baltimore, MD based band has a MySpace that we're begging you to check out, these guys have some serious talent and are amazing live. Bands like The KELLY BELL BAND are the reason why we love live music so much. We felt their love of music come through their music and they completely rocked us to the bone, man!

Free Phat Blues At The Can Company Friday
from: Bmore-Live
Posted: 08/11/2008

Never willing to be worn out by a busy schedule, the KELLY BELL BAND is coming straight out of a jam-packed July and into an equally ample August with a free First Friday show at the Can Company in Canton on August 1. This will be the first of 18 shows the band will play this month. The group of five musicians plays about 200 shows every year, delivering a genre-bending mix of hip-hop, funk and blues. July brought the release of two live albums, "I’m Just Sayin’" and "That’s What’s Up", and had the band playing shows on both coasts in less than 24 hours. Frontman Kelly Bell took time out of his busy schedule to answer a few questions about the band and how they keep up the pace.
