low resolution image Not Enlargeable After a couple easy weeks following the end of summer festival season, we get back to things in earnest with a pair of show this weekend. On Friday we roll into the Annapolis docks for the first time since Eastport (Wast Porto Ricoooo!!!) Clipper days. We'll be at the venerable Armadillo's for the first time for what should be a great show in one of the more intimate settings for the full band set. Should be a wild time. Then Saturday we're off to the Outer Banks Brewing We haven't been here for a while and can't wait to get back. It should be a memorable Halloween in Kill Devil Hils with many friends and the Phat blues in the house. Y'all come down now! Ya hear!?

low resolution image Not Enlargeable Hey folks,
Thanks to everyone who came out to Bunkers on Saturday. It was good to see some our NoVA regulars out and we had a great show. This week it's out I-70 again to Frederick and the Olde Towne Tavern our Fredrick base of ops. We're looking forward to the usual wild and crazy time we always have there. ... Definitely not for the faint of heart. So come on down and be part of the festivities. We'll see you there.

Lone Show This Week

low resolution image Not Enlargeable The outdoor festival season came to a rousing close last Saturday as the KBB made our annual appearance at the Baltimore Running Festival hosted by our wardrobe sponsor, UnderArmour. This is always a great event and this year was no exception and The Baltimore Marathon is becoming one of the fastest growing ones in the country. Later that evening we took our annual turn at Baltimore's Oktoberfest at it was a flat out party. Thanks everybody who braved the wind and chilly temps to support both events. We also had a great show at the Chameleon Club in Lancaster on Friday. This place is full of sooo much history. It was good to be back after a long absence.

This week's lone show is at Bunker in Leesburg. We hope to see lots of our NoVA fans and friends come out. Big stage ... nice sight lines. Great place to see a band. So come hang with the KBB this weekend. Peace!!

Closer To Home This Week

Hey everyone,

It was an incredibly long road trip, first 22 hours to the Lakes of Northern Wisconsin (the town of Land O' Lakes to be exact), then back to IL and finally Indy and then back home in less than three days. However by any measure it was worth it. We got to meet the wonderful students and staff at the Conserve School, a small but totally unique and progressive boarding school with a distinct bent on conservation and things "green", with a strong commitment to remove financial obstacles preventing otherwise qualified students from attending. The campus was absolutely gorgeous and inspiring, rivaling many colleges facility wise and surpassing most in natural beauty. It was in this setting that we got to teach speak with music students in the afternoon and that evening play a great show in a terrific theater for the campus and surrounding community. The whole day there reminds us of why we do what we do. Many thanks to the faculty , staff and students who made the time great.

Right after the show it was off to Rock Valley College in Rockford, IL to the play the pre-game festivities for what may have been (but hopefully wasn't its last homecoming football game as the program may be discontinued due to funding. We enjoyed ourselves and join the students in hoping this was not the Golden Eagles' Last Stand. We left immediately after the morning show for Indy and the Rathskeller. Though the unseasonably cold weather ended up canceling the schedule biergarten performance, the owners treated us like royalty, fed us incredible amounts of great food and drink, gave us a chance to sit-in and generally made sure we felt no ill effects front the show canceling. After that, the long ride home. All in all in about 60 hours we were driving for about 36 of them. Now that's hittin' the road!!

This week... not so much ... !!. Friday night we head to Lancaster and the Chameleon Club, after a long absence, best known as the place where one of our favorite bands, Live!, cut their teeth. On Saturday we're back home for the Baltimore Running Festival put on by our wardrobe sponsors, UnderArmour. This a great event annually for the city, state and region and we are proud to once again be part of it. After a morning show there it's off to Timonium and The Maryland Brewers Oktoberfest held at the Fairgrounds. This is also an annual event that gets better every year and that we look forward to. If you have a minute this weekend, we'd love for you to catch us up, down or "out of" town. Peace. Be safe. Ciao!!!

Phat Blues Fix In The Midwest

How's everybody? Thank to every one who came out to last week's shows at Ramshead Live and the DC Oktoberfest at National Harbor on the Potomac. It was nice to be home for a change for the whole weekend. We are making up for it this week as we make our longest (though not necessarily farthest road trip ever (we've been farther from home but we've alway flown). It starts on Friday with two events at the Conserve School in Land O Lakes, WI. Yes, that's right and yes that's where-you-know what is made. (and you thought Wisconsin was just for cheese!). In the afternoon we'll be hipping the kids to the history, importance and relevance of the blues and answering their questions about music in general. That night they get a full blown heapin' helping of some the phat blues. The next day we're off to Indianapolis for the first time for an afternoon rathskeller appearance before high-tailing it to Rock Valley College in Rockford, IL for a later show. Good thin g we like each other 'cause we're gonna be spending a lot of quality time in the van together. Prolly close to 50 hours. That's ok we'll have ipods, portable dvd's, laptops, cell phones, plenty of reading material and as well as our usual entertaining and witty band banter (I sense the rolling of eyes) to help the hours pass. Oh and I imagine they'll be a fair amount of unphotogenic sleep photography potentially to be had. Let's hope it remain unrealized though. In any event we'll be venturing onto new turf, and making new and meeting new fans, and that's always fun. Hopefully we'll be back in time to watch ( snooze through) some football Sunday and hang with friends and family. Enjoy the weekend and if you happen to be in the same neck of the woods, come see us. Peace!!
